Twenty one years ago today. For as spotty as my memory can be at times, I remember that day clearly. It seemed never ending.
In my office, listening to some morning rock from our local station, their newscaster breaks in to tell us that a commercial jet has hit one of the Twin Towers at The World Trade Center in NYC. I immediately call home. My Bride is crying. While we're talking, another jet hits the second of the two Twin Towers.
She assures me she's ok, so we agree to contact each other as news breaks. This went on all throughout the workday, and longer than either one of us expected.
All those innocent victims, man. From those working or visiting the towers that day, to the citizen heroes helping one another, the public safety heroes, the families that lost loved ones. Motherfucker.
I wish this was the only epic example of tragedy's that I recall in great detail. Where I was, what day it was, who I was with. But it's not.
Never forget loved ones, heroes, public servants, victims...or the perpetrators of violence that have taken people away from us. Teach your children and loved ones about history. All of it. Every detail that is known. Don't hide the shameful acts, or leave the unthinkable out. We must all learn from mistakes, no matter who made them, or why.
9/11. Never forget. 🇺🇸🫂❤️
Thank you for stopping by.
