Quiet. The kids & their kids are down for the night. My bride is staying/caring for her mom at her mom's house. Luckily, less than 3 miles away. These are those days for her mom. She turned 89 this week, but still trudges on. Just needs a little extra help.
At the risk of repeating my hurt and rage, my mind goes to the state of our union. Again.
As you probably know, during the horrors of the Holocaust, the very young & very old were often taken first. Damn the Nazi regime. Blessed are those that fought to end the tyranny of a madman. Those days, man.

Yes, I'm a sappy sucker and pretty passionate for lyrics that move me. That's the case here, obviously. I can't help but sing this to myself, daily, when the turmoil in our country reduces me to...well, sometimes tears.
A conversation with a family member today was eye opening, and not in a good way. Like so many I thought I knew, I was taken aback by the realization that as people often grow, some select a totally different path. And that fucks me up. Badly. I don't know how to take most in the Republican party anymore. I've tried getting off of social media. That didn't work very long, as I had no arena to voice myself or continue my fight for democracy, at least in my current family life. And I refuse to even somewhat abandon my time with my family. My homebody life is very valuable.
So, lucky you, my therapists, are my saving grace. I hope you align with my thoughts and my principles. A few things before it becomes tomorrow, 9/11:
Tyranny - Cruel and oppressive government or rule: refugees fleeing tyranny and oppression. a state under cruel and oppressive government. Cruel, unreasonable, or arbitrary use of power or control: the tyranny of her stepmother. Rule by one who has absolute power without legal right.
Legal or illegal, wrong is wrong. See any likeness in what shakes our daily in the world? Here in the states? You gotta fight it, y'all. Vote. 🌊🫂🌊 You know, like the jackleg Republicans do to put ANYONE into office. Just a body with a mouth. No jacket required.
