The bricks that built me. Yes, there have been many players. Some I never even realized until years later. Some have already transitioned from their physical beings. Some are in our media that I've never even actually met.
It's said that children learn so many basic things, and retain them, within the first three to seven years of their lives. My research tells of milestones and life lessons.
I was slower to develop my own hard stances and many things of importance.
*Missed opportunities*
But I wasn't too horrible, just unconcerned or "too busy" to let myself be distracted away from mood altering substances, girls, motorcycles, cars...just selfish. I didn't see it then, though.
My family. Even when I get, or have gotten, mad with them, have never wavered. My childhood best friend's family. My married into family. Musicians with poignant messages. Thought provoking authors. Historians. Politicians. Neighbors. At times, everyday people. At other times, it's my own past behaviors that teach me how NOT to be. So again, a big thank you to all that both knowingly and unknowingly helped me reach a (somewhat) respectable level of maturity.
