Double vaxxed. Boosted. Masking. Distancing. Wiping. Lions & Tigers & Bears, OH MY!
While our son, his fiance', & their two daughters have been with us while saving for a house of their own, we've been fortunate to have had zero issues from this unfortunate disease.
Until last Sunday.
Our son tested positive, throwing our household into a scramble to distance. And just before school started for the girls. Our rock solid daughter-in-law-to-be hasn't missed a step. Collectively, we've all been as careful, AGAIN, as we can be, and fortunately, on day 5, nobody else has tested positive. So far.
With several new strains now out there, we 6 still remain guarded as best we can. The young kids are resilient. Their parents are a little more worn. We, being the elders, remain VERY cautious. My Bride is immuno compromised, and also has to consider her helping care for her her mom, 89 in September. Challenges continue to come for everyone, but we're super thankful, and certainly realize that others aren't quite as fortunate.
Waving at neighbors is better than nothing. But the separation is difficult, particularly with the young kids. A 4 year old next door, a 2 year old across the street with his mom pregnant, a 5 year old a few doors down, and a 70+ year old across the street. The lack of interaction is palpable.
So, please mask in public. Keep an appreciable distance when in company of others. Keep disinfecting wipes handy. Wash your hands on the regular. Be well, all.
Thank you for stopping by.
