I know I just wrote about this a week or so ago, but again, the morning news ignited yet another inextinguishable flame inside of me. Another young woman, 16 years old, killed by Iranian police. For protesting. Her fucking rights.
A repost from my friend Kayli...
"The biggest women's right movement in the world is happening in Iran right now. It is a human rights movement. It is intersectional. It is a REVOLUTION with teen girls at its forefront. If you aren't paying attention and amplifying those voices, you are making a mistake. Posting about what's happening in Iran, sharing posts coming from Iran, participating in protests abroad, makes a difference. It helps the people risking their lives for their freedom to keep going. It makes them know they're not alone, that the world is watching and that we care. This is a movement to overthrow a brutal regime. One which has killed thousands of political dissidents, artists, writers, journalists and even children and dogs. My father was killed at the hands is this regime, he was imprisoned and hung. I had to leave my home, my culture, my country, my language, my family, because of this regime. (Aided to power by the colonial forces of the US and UK who have always wanted to exploit Iran for its oil and other natural resources). If you are not paying attention, you're on the wrong side or history.
If you're curious what accounts to follow, start with @from iran #mahsaamini #freeiran #زن_زندگی_آزادی#womanlifefreedom"
Support these people and their lack of a reasonably understanding government. Like where ours is headed. Stick together, y'all. For all.
Thank you for stopping by.
