Rebel Yell

 08.13.2022

The Rebel yell was the war cry of Confederate soldiers during the American Civil War (1861-1865). Distinctive noises made by soldiers were identified from the very beginning of the war, but the yell's first appearance in combat may have come at the First Battle of Manassas, on July 21, 1861, and is strongly associated with the Confederate general Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson.

ALSO:

Rebel Yell is an established brand in the bourbon industry, operating since 1849 in Louisville, Kentucky. It has long had a reputation for releasing undistinguished whiskey, but recent efforts are at work on rebranding the image and raising the popularity of the distillery.

BUT!

**I'm nor a fan of the Confederacy, but I am of Billy Idol. See below, please.**

"I walked the world for you, babe, A thousand miles for you   I dried your tears, of pain, babe, A million times, for you I'd sell my soul, for you, babe, For money to burn, for you     I'd give you all, and have none, babe, Just to, just to, just to, just to, to have you here by me"

Billy Idol-Rebel Yell-1983

So fortunate to have what and who I have in my life. And others along the way. Teachers, all. My Bride, however is to whom I owe the most. Forty years of dedication and patience, trying to corral my times of immaturity, but I'm thankful she also sees beyond the 17 year old still trapped inside. But he's still in there, particularly in times of disbelief and anger. My own rebel yell. But now, time has crept on, and I know I must focus on other things besides being twisted inside due to our current political climate. It's unfair to drag my people down with my little boy lack of control. If it means internalizing, it's what I'll do. It's hard for me, but not impossible. I seem to be one F bomb away from burning this motherfucker down, rocking on the edge of being mentally imbalanced.

But deep down, this achieves nothing. I know this. So please send healing vibes this way. Our souls depend on it.

Thank you for stopping in.
